Grainger & Worrall (GW), played host to an evening event for Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), organised by Birmingham Young Members Panel. The evening saw the region’s brightest engineers go behind the scenes of the high-quality automotive castings company, to gain valuable insights from GW’s expert engineers.
Founded in Birmingham in 1847, the IMechE has over 115,000 members in 140 countries around the globe. Working closely with its members, the IMechE looks to encourage innovation across the sector, as well promoting engineering as a career of choice to the younger generation.
As part of the event, GW’s Engineering Director, Keith Denholm, delivered a presentation on how the industry-leading foundry delivers its cutting-edge castings to the exacting world of high-end motorsport and vehicle manufacturers, including such marques as McLaren and Bugatti.
This was followed by a tour of the Bridgnorth site, giving the engineers and apprentices the opportunity to get hands on with some of the pioneering processes used by GW.

It was particularly encouraging to see many of GW’s own Graduate engineers and apprentices supporting and engaged in the event."
