Grainger & Worrall (GW), the UK’s leading provider of high-precision casting technologies, has completed the purchase of a castings facility in Worcester.

The newly-acquired facility, which will be known as GW COSCAST™, will see GW expand the scope of its low pressure sand casting operations, allying its pioneering use of digital technology with the Coscast™ process, to create high-performance castings for the motorsport, automotive and structural castings markets. The operation was previously owned by MAHLE Powertrain, which has worked in close co-operation with GW to ensure a smooth and mutually beneficial sale.

Philip Ward, Head of Performance Castings at GW, said: “We continue to develop our castings operations by investing in our facilities. This acquisition adds further high-level casting capability and additional skills and knowledge, providing another positive step as the technology leader in high-performance castings.”
